Careers: Testimonials

Electrical, Mechanical and IT Services

...but don’t take our word on the benefits of a career in engineering:

Andrew Nolan - A former Young Engineer of the Year, engineering apprentice Andrew Nolan has thrived throughout his training at Lee Beesley’s Merthyr Tydfil branch.

“I became an apprentice because I wanted to learn a skill and be really hands-on in my work. I really enjoy my job – it is satisfying and I work with a great team. The highlight so far was when I won the McKnight Cup and was named Young Engineer of the Year. Every trainee engineer worked hard to do the best job possible so I was incredibly proud to have my efforts recognised.”

Barrie Woolley - After joining the company as an electrical apprentice, Barrie Woolley is now the business unit manager for Lee Beesley’s Merthyr Tydfil branch.

“I started by becoming a fully qualified electrician, progressing to contract engineer, gaining an Electrical and Electronics Degree. Since then I have worked on a host of different projects in both the industrial and commercial sectors and have gained plenty of brilliant business experience. A career in engineering can lead you to places you never imagined. I whole heartedly recommend it!”
